Kolhapuri mutton….yummm

Kolhapur..the name itself reminds one of it’s rock n historical heritage, the kolhapuri chappals and obviously the kolhapuri cuisine. Hot spicy mouth watering dishes especially the mutton one.

But for city people like me kolhapur is quiet a distance away so for foodies like us there is one place to full your tummy with authentic kolhapuri food e mutton the chicken and the ever so famous “tambda rassa & pandhra rassa” (red and white curries). So where is this awesome place ? Well its in thane “purepur kolhapur” yeah that’s where you need to go to enjoy your meal of a wholesome kolhapuri food.
So here we were at this food joint not a lavish or “hi-fi” but simple yet welcoming.
We were greeted by the waiter who was serving us and my he was a charming fellow .. Asking “sir ankhi kahi” ( sir anything more) with a delightful smile on his face. The menu simple one with dishes served written in two columns of Marathi and English.
So our order for tonight:
1.mutton masala thali
2.mutton dhangari thali
3.mutton sukha thali
4.mutton zhanka a

I know the names might sound alien to the regular hotel goer but hey don’t be fooled these are some of the tastiest dishes you will taste.
The order took it’s time since every dish is prepared separately …. And then we were served our plates, yummy mutton marinated to it’s best and cooked in awesome spices just hmmmm say way better than we expected…
And the delicious rassas I personally had 4 full bowls of them 😝
All in all tasty food awesome service value for money(bill under 1500 for 4 people) 😁😁😁 what else do you need.
Great food great time
Do visit purepur kolhapur thane 😁

Cheers
